ITAC Receives International Telework Award from
Japan Telework Association
Jack Heacock, Past President of ITAC, graciously accepts award
Jack Heacock, Past President of ITAC, The International Telework Association and Council, gave the Keynote address to the Japanese Telework Association at an event celebrating their 10th Anniversary.

Present were over 200 of Japan's foremost government and industrial leaders. In many ways, Japan is further ahead in adopting Remote Work Strategies such as Telework and the Virtual Office, SoHo and CoHo, than the United States. Japan is dealing head-on and effectively with a declining population and increased demand for skilled workers. The Japanese government has recognized Telework as a key means for dealing with the realities of the new millennium, including changing demographics, urban congestion and pollution reduction. Reorganized government ministries ensure an 'Integrated Approach' for streamlining the change in management processes necessary to make it easier for industry to make Telework a strategic program and an advantage within their respective enterprises.

The adroitness of American Industry to respond to the Internet and Telework and the positive influence of The International Telework Association & Council both in the United States and Worldwide lead to ITAC's receipt of the Japan Telework Association's "International Award".

The citation reads:

The International Telework Association & Council has made outstanding efforts to promote the benefits of the new working style, Telework, both in the U.S.A. and internationally.

Recognizing that the remarkable global progress of Telework is greatly due to the innovative activities of the International Telework Association & Council, it is with great honor that we award the organization our International Telework Award.

Presented in honor of exceptional achievements and contribution to the development of Telework.

Awarded on July 3rd, 2001The auspicious day of the Japan Telework Association's 10th anniversary celebrations.
